THE PLOT: NEO-BATTLE CITY
The plot of Paradox Prophecy takes place in an alternate universe from the anime and manga series. New Domino City is known as a peaceful paradise for duelists of all ages. Duel Academy remains on its island off the coast of New Domino and still trains aspiring duelists as it appears in GX. Turbo duels are popular at the stadium in the city as well.
Although New Domino City has been known as a Duelist Paradise, all is not well. Reports of people disappearing all around the city have been reported. Authorities believe that these occurrences are the results of gangs and tell residents not to worry. Little do they know that the rumors are true and that nobody is safe from the culprits that plague the streets.
Despite these disappearances, the president of a certain corporation is hosting a Duel Monsters tournament which will showcase the talents of all sorts of duelists; young and old. The prize is yet to be revealed, but rumors are spreading that it's related to the Egyptian Exhibit that's come to town. Could it be Millennium Items? Legitimate God Cards? Only time will tell.
YOUR ROLE
You get to choose your role in the world of Paradox Prophecy. Are you a noble duelist who is fighting for a loved one? Are you in it for the prize money? Maybe you're in it for the Title of Battle City Champion, King of Games! Or maybe you're a shadow duelist who is contributing to the disappearances. You decide.
Shadow Duelists will be given the task of trapping souls for a devious purpose that will be made clear when you create an Evil or Neutral Character with the "Shadow Duelist" occupation.
When making a character during this Arc, please be sure to state if they're participating in the tournament and any reasoning or background behind their entry.
